Flood warning as downpours strike Floods block east coast rail line

A severe weather warning has been issued as heavy rainfall sweeps across large parts of Scotland. Major disruption has been reported on services between Edinburgh and London King's Cross after heavy rainfall.
Up to 60mm (2.5in) of rain could fall on higher ground in the Borders, south west Scotland, the Lothians, Grampian, Strathclyde, Central, Tayside and Fife. National Express and CrossCountry services have been suspended between Berwick-Upon-Tweed and Edinburgh due to flooding near Dunbar.
The weather alert was put in place until midnight on Thursday. Hazardous driving conditions in the area mean that no replacement bus services are available.
The poor weather has also caused three-hour delays on east coast services at Grantham in Lincolnshire.
Weather warnings are currently in place for large parts of Scotland.
The Borders, south west Scotland, the Lothians, Grampian, Strathclyde, Central, Tayside and Fife have been put on alert until midnight on Thursday.
