Emergency services are dealing with a major incident at Bournemouth beach. Two people have been pulled from the sea by the coastguard after getting into difficulty off Bournemouth beach.
Dorset Police said it was called to the scene near Bournemouth Pier by South Western Ambulance Service just after 16:30 BST. They have both been passed to the care of the ambulance service, HM Coastguard said. Their condition is unknown.
The beach has been cleared along with nearby Pier Approach and the area has been cordoned off, a spokesman said. The coastguard said it searched to make sure there were no other people missing and was "satisfied there are not".
HM Coastguard, the RNLI, and Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service crews were also called, along with an air ambulance. Emergency services, including a coastguard helicopter, were called to the scene near Bournemouth Pier at just after 16:30 BST.

The beach was cleared along with nearby Pier Approach and the area was cordoned off, a police spokesman said.
Eeman Qamar, from Southampton, was on the beach with her mother and three-month-old baby.
She told the BBC that just after 16:00 lifeguards began to tell people to clear the beach, saying there had been a major incident.
"After about 20 minutes, the first air ambulance arrived and landed right in the middle of the beach," she said.
Ms Qamar continued: "The lifeguards started getting on jet skis and boats, searching the sea and about 20 minutes later the second air ambulance arrived and it took another hour-and-a-half for them to finish the whole search and rescue operation."
