A north Belfast primary school has been closed following a security alert, the police have said. A controlled explosion has been carried out on a suspicious object found in the grounds of a north Belfast primary school.
A suspicious object has been found in the grounds of the Mercy Primary School on the Crumlin Road. A milkman making a delivery to Mercy Primary School on Crumlin Road is understood to have spotted the object and raised the alarm.
Parents have been told not to sent their pupils to school on Wednesday morning. An Army bomb disposal team is at the scene and carrying out further examinations on the object.
