A car has ploughed into a group of school children outside a church in Suffolk. Eight children are being taken to hospital after a car ploughed into a group of youngsters in Suffolk.
Emergency services were called to All Saints Church in Lowestoft Road, Worlingham earlier. Six ambulances, four fire engines and the air ambulance helicopter were called to the scene at All Saints Church in Lowestoft Road, Worlingham.
A police spokeswoman said a group of pupils and adults were hit leaving up to 10 casualties, but it is not known how many of those are children. The group of nine pupils and a male adult from Worlingham Middle School were all hurt.
It is believed the group were on a school trip. The road has been closed and diversions are in place. No-one has life-threatening injuries. A 40-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
A police spokeswoman said the most seriously injured child had two broken legs.
The East of England Ambulance Service said some of the casualties will be taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital in Norwich, Norfolk.
Other casualties will be taken to James Paget Hospital in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
The road has been closed and diversions are in place.
