A 58-year-old man has been killed after being hit by a motorbike during the rush hour on the outskirts of Aberdeen. | |
Grampian Police said the accident happened as the man, who was from the city, crossed the A96, near Marshall Trailers, at about 1545 GMT on Friday. | |
The 49-year-old rider of the BMW motorbike, who also lives locally, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with "non life-threatening" injuries. | |
The accident happened citybound, north of the Aberdeen Airport roundabout. | |
The road was closed for six hours, causing major traffic delays. | |
Police said the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. | |
Insp Ian Kirkwood said: "We know that the pedestrian was in the company of friends at the time and I would appeal for anyone who may have seen them walking in the area of the A96 around the time of the collision to get in touch with us." |
