Russian President Vladimir Putin is attending a military parade in Beijing to commemorate the 80th anniversary of imperial Japan’s defeat in World War II. Putin joined Chinese President Xi Jinping, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, and various other heads of state for a grand military parade in Beijing on Wednesday. After the parade, Putin held talks with Kim and delegations from their two countries.  
Following Tuesday’s Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting, Putin held a series of bilateral talks with leaders from China, Mongolia, Slovakia, Pakistan, Serbia, Uzbekistan, and Belarus. Discussions focused on energy, trade, regional issues, and bilateral ties with Russia. Wednesday’s events follow the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, where Putin held a series of bilateral talks with Xi and the leaders of Mongolia, Slovakia, Pakistan, Serbia, Uzbekistan, and Belarus.
