Motorists have been warned about icy conditions after temperatures dropped as low as -16C in Scotland. Fresh travel warnings have been issued as the wintry conditions continue to cause problems on Scotland's roads.
The Met Office issued severe weather warnings for the whole of the country and police forces advised motorists to drive with caution. Forecasters predicted more freezing temperatures through the night, with Met Office warnings of ice and snow in parts of the country.
Temperatures fell to -16C in Tyndrum overnight and to -14C at Tulloch Bridge in the Highlands. Ministers said plummeting temperatures would bring a continued risk of icy roads and pavements.
