A murder inquiry began after a man shot outside the Scala nightclub in King's Cross in the early hours of Sunday died later in hospital. Daniel Ross, 22, was in the Scala nightclub, King's Cross, when shots were fired in the early hours of Sunday. He died later in hospital.

Mr Ross died more than 12 hours after he suffered a gunshot wound inside the club in Pentonville Road. Mr Ross is thought to have been on or near the dance floor on the middle floor of the club when he was shot.
Officers from Scotland Yard's Operation Trident are investigating the King's Cross incident and have appealed for witnesses. The club's lights went on and the 850 to 1,000 people in the club at the time spilled out of the club through fire exits.
A post-mortem examination of Mr Ross's body is due to be carried out in St Pancras on Monday. Scala attracts people from all over the country, and police want to speak to anyone who was inside and saw what happened.

Road closures are expected to remain in place throughout Monday while police search the area. She also asked anyone working in the club that night to get in touch in confidence.
Six weeks ago Sharif Zaiden, 18, from Ladbroke Grove, was shot dead on the dancefloor at the nearby Egg club in King's Cross. Police said it was a rare occurrence as they work closely with the club on its licensing and security.
