A man and a woman have been killed in a road crash in the north east of Scotland. A man and a woman have been killed and another man is in hospital following two separate road crashes in the north east of Scotland.
Grampian Police said the accident happened on the A90 Peterhead to Fraserburgh road between Lonmay and Cortes at about 0115 GMT on Sunday. The couple, who have not been named, died when the Vauxhall Frontera they were travelling in left the A90 Peterhead to Fraserburgh road.
The force said they received a number of 999 calls about a green Vauxhaul Frontera leaving the road. The crash happened between Lonmay and Cortes at about 0115 GMT on Sunday.
However, when police arrived the couple were pronounced dead at the scene. Police have appealed for witnesses. Grampian Police said a man was in a serious condition in hospital after another crash south of Fraserburgh.
The road remains closed for accident investigators to examine the scene. Diversions have been put in place. The collision, which involved two vehicles near to Philorth Woods on the A90, has resulted in the road being closed.
