A woman aged in her 80s has been 'restrained' by two men during a robbery at her home in County Antrim. Two women aged in their 80s have been 'restrained' by robbers during separate burglaries in County Antrim.
The robbers, believed to be in their 20s, entered the pensioner's house on Station Road in Whiteabbey shortly after 1900 GMT on Saturday. One of the elderly women sustained a cut to her lip after she was held by an intruder while other men stole cash from her house in south Belfast.
They escaped with a with a small sum of cash. The woman was not injured. The robbery took place at about 2115 GMT at Upper Malone Park in the city.
Police are working to establish if the robbery is linked to a break-in at a house at Fernagh Drive in Whiteabbey later on Saturday night. Earlier on Saturday night, two men in their 20s held an elderly woman at her home on Station Road in Whiteabbey before stealing money form her.
The property was entered when no-one was home. The robbers entered the pensioner's house shortly after 1900 GMT on Saturday.
A police spokesman said details of any items stolen in the second incident were "still being compiled". The woman was not injured.
A small sum of cash was stolen during both burglaries.
Police are working to establish if there is any link between them and a third incident at a house at Fernagh Drive in Whiteabbey which also took place one Saturday night.
The property was entered when no-one was home, but it has not yet been confirmed if anything was stolen.
