South Belfast MLA Anna Lo, Alliance Party, condemned the robberies.
"It takes a particularly despicable type of person to be able to bring themselves to rob a pensioner in their home," she said.
"These thugs are nothing but cowards and they need to be taken off our streets.
"My thoughts are with anyone who has faced traumatic incidents of this nature in recent times."
