'Brother' held after boy killed
(9 minutes later) | |
A nine-year-old boy has died and his 18-year-old sister is in hospital after they were stabbed in Bradford.
A man in his 20s, who is believed to be the boy's older brother, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and assault.
The boy, named locally as Jackson Taylor, died from multiple stab wounds in hospital after the attack at a house in Rookes Avenue, Wibsey, on Thursday.
It is believed the arrested man has a history of mental health problems.
Jackson was also known as Jack. His sister was taken to hospital with a stab wound but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Five houses between Rookes Avenue and Richardson Avenue have been cordoned off and police said neighbourhood officers were in the area.
A spokeswoman for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said a call was received at 1942 GMT and a rapid response vehicle and ambulance were sent to the address.
Trevor Bairstow, whose 10-year-old granddaughter Leah went to school with Jackson, said he was horrified.
Police have cordoned off a number of houses on the estate
He confirmed it was Jackson's adult brother who had been arrested.
He said: "[The boy] went to Wibsey Primary School. He was a normal little lad. I used to see him playing out and about.
"He never bothered us. What can you say? He's a nine-year-old boy who's been stabbed. It's shocking."
Dale Webster, 24, who lives across the road from where the stabbing took place, described Jackson as a "cute little lad" who came to collect sponsorship money from him a couple of months ago.
"I used to see him playing on his bike a lot. He came one day and asked me to sponsor him for school," he said.
"He was a cute little lad. He was just a normal kid." |
