West Yorkshire Police were called to an address in Rookes Avenue in the Wibsey area at about 1945 GMT on Thursday. A man in his 20s, who neighbours said was the boy's older brother, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and assault.
The boy was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary, where he died from his injuries. His sister was taken to hospital with a stab wound. The boy, who has not been named, died from multiple stab wounds in hospital after the attack at a house in Rookes Avenue, Wibsey, on Thursday night.
A man, in his 20s, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and assault. Detectives are appealing for witnesses. It is understood the arrested man has a history of mental health problems.
A police spokesperson said a post-mortem examination had shown the boy, who has not yet been named, died from multiple stab wounds. The boy's sister was taken to hospital with a stab wound but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Trevor Bairstow, whose 10-year-old granddaughter Leah went to school with the victim, said he was horrified.
He confirmed it was the boy's adult brother who had been arrested.
He said: "[The boy] went to Wibsey Primary School. He was a normal little lad. I used to see him playing out and about.
"He never bothered us. What can you say? He's a nine-year-old boy who's been stabbed. It's shocking."
