A car bomb has exploded near a courthouse in Newry, County Down. Police say it is a "miracle" no-one was killed or injured by a car bomb near a courthouse in Newry, County Down.
Police said it was "a sheer miracle" no-one had been injured or killed by the bomb, which went off at 2240 GMT as officers were evacuating the area. Officers were evacuating the area when the bomb went off on Monday evening. They had been called after reports of a suspicious car near the court.

Bomb warnings were also received by a hospital and a number of businesses in the city. Initial reports suggest dissident republicans were to blame. The BBC's Mark Simpson said it was the latest attack by dissident republicans opposed to the peace process.
Motorists have been advised to avoid the area. The bomb "shows that although they have little support they are trying to extend the range and intensity of their violence", the BBC's Ireland correspondent added.
Condemning the attack, Chief Inspector Sam Cordner said: "At this stage we are working to make the area safe and calling in experts to collect any evidence. 'Substantial blast'

BBC Ireland Correspondent Mark Simpson said it appeared to have been a car bomb which "seems to have been planted by dissident republicans". The explosion damaged the gates of the courthouse.
"What the IRA used to do quite frequently was target the courthouse - that is what dissident republicans are now doing," he added. Mr Woodward, who is in the US, said he was pleased nobody had been hurt, but those behind the attack were "people who want to destabilise the political process".
Warning He said: "This is an appalling attack by a very small group of people who refuse to accept that peace is working in Northern Ireland.
