The public will welcome Tory commitments to make GPs stay open longer, Richard Horton, editor of medical journal HREF="http://www.thelancet.com/" ID="9999" STYLE="LINK_Inline">the Lancet says. But he thinks Labour "has been able to present itself as a party that still has life, energy, and ideas" on health too. Most interestingly perhaps - they suggest doing nothing. Labour's offer of "a period of organisational stabilityÂ… will be welcomed by most health service staff", he thinks. Nick Clegg's pledge to cap cash bonuses for bankers at £2,500 is attracting mixed reaction on BBC News Online.
