Speaking after the arrests were made, South Wales Police Ch Supt Bob Tooby said: "This is a significant development in our inquiry." Detective Chief Superintendent, Stuart McKenzie, said: "Yesterday's arrests are a significant development in our investigation and the two men are being questioned in connection with the death of Aamir.
Anyone with information about Aamir's death is asked to contact the incident room at Cardiff Central Police Station on 02920 571530 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. "We have had an excellent response to our appeal for information and we are receiving a lot of information from the community directly into the incident room and also through other routes such as house-to-house inquiries, at our mobile police station and via Facebook.

"I wish to thank all those who have already come forward - your assistance is invaluable.
"However, I am certain there are people out there with information who have not yet spoken to us.
"I am hoping that yesterday's arrests will encourage more people to come forward."
Det Ch Supt McKenzie, the senior investigating officer in the case, said that despite the arrests the murder inquiry team were "still very much appealing for information".
He said: I would urge anyone who has information of the tragic death of Aamir to contact the incident room at Cardiff Central police station."
Meanwhile, friends of the teenager, described by his family as passionate about sport, are planning to hold a fundraising football match in his memory.
'Loved football'
They have used the social networking site Facebook to arrange the game at Heath Park, Cardiff, at 1700 BST on Thursday.
One post on the site said: "Aamir loved football, he knew all the (useless) facts, he loved commentating, and last week he made his long-awaited comeback.
"So let's do it for him."
The match will raise money for the independent charity Crimestoppers.
