She says Labour returned to a venue on Monday that was previously used by the Lib Dems - "possibly in the hope that some of the Churchillian magic transfixing the nation would rub off on them". "Cameron seeks to retake 'change' agenda after surge for Lib Dems," says Tuesday's Financial Times. It picks up on the hastily re-filmed Tory election broadcast which abandoned a direct attack on Labour in favour of a call for "a strong Conservative mandate". Denying the reworking was a sign of panic, the FT says an official claimed: "David's always been willing to respond to the public mood."
