Back at the BBC town hall debate in Stirling, the candidates are discussing Afghanistan. The SNP's Alison Lindsay says she does not want forces there in the long term and that they should leave as soon as possible. Anne McGuire of Labour argues that it is important to stabilise Pakistan and the UK's troops understand the reasons for the war they are fighting. But Lib Dem Grahan Reed says it is a "failure" that the government has no way out of the conflict and an exit strategy must be worked out. Conservative Bob Dalrymple says troops going to Afghanistan have to be properly equipped. The Electoral Commission has released some figures relating to its drive to get voters registered by tonight's midnight deadline, reports the BBC's Rory Cellan-Jones There have been 1.8 million visitors to the aboutmyvote.co.uk website. 41% have been from 18-24 year olds. So far, 375,092 registration forms have been downloaded from the site - of which 13,800 were downloaded by Facebook users. The Electoral Commission teamed up with Facebook to encourage younger voters to register.
