    class="type-9"> 2025: David Cameron tells party supporters he will not rush into a deal with the Lib Dems. In his emailed message he says: "Inevitably, these negotiations will involve compromise. But that's what working together in the national interest means. I hope we can sort things out as quickly as possible, for the good of the country. But we won't rush into any agreement. We've got to make sure that anything that results really is the best possible outcome for Britain - that it really is in the national interest. After all, that's what this party has always been about. That's what I'm about. And I know that's what you want, and what the country wants right now too."

  1. class="type-11"> 2030: David Cameron and Nick Clegg met privately this evening to discuss the progress of their parties' negotiations over a possible agreement to form a new government, BBC political editor Nick Robinson says. The meeting followed an earlier brief conversation after the two men met at the celebration of VE Day in London. Neither party is willing to comment so far on tonight's meeting. It was 70 minutes long at Admiralty House.
