0926: Former Liberal leader Lord Steel says Nick Clegg may want to agree a fixed life-span for any Con-Lib pact before he agrees to do a deal with David Cameron. "It could be one year, it could be two years, it could be four years. Whatever it is, it has to be clear to the public that this government is going to go on for a definite period. I hope it's his [Mr Clegg's] view. Certainly the last time I talked to him about it, before the election, that was his view."
