It also appears that a meeting of the Lib Dem executive committee is planned for later - its members must agree if any kind of deal with the Tories is to go ahead. But he says Lib Dem and Tory councillors work together regularly up and down the country and there's no need for an "automatic bar" on doing so at a national level. "If I believed that, come what may, Labour must always be in power, I would have joined the Labour Party," he adds. More
