  1. 1437: Prof Robert Hazell, director of think tank the Constitution Unit, tells the BBC there's common ground between the Tories and Lib Dems on reducing the size of the Commons. "The Tories want to reduce it by 10%, to 585 MPs, the Lib Dems would go further, to 500 MPs. Now the significance of that is that it would require a wholesale boundary review. You would also require a wholesale boundary review to introduce any kind of proportional representation. So it's one way for the Lib Dems to get their foot in the door on that."
