A 53-year-old man has been charged with the murder of care worker Ffion Wyn Roberts 11 weeks ago in Porthmadog, Gwynedd. A man is to appear in court charged with the murder of care worker Ffion Wyn Roberts.
Iestyn Davies, aged 53, of Porthmadog, is accused of killing Ms Roberts, 22, in the town on April 10. Iestyn Davies, 53, is charged with killing the 22-year-old care worker, whose body was discovered in a ditch in Porthmadog, Gwynedd, on 10 April.
He is due to appear before magistrates in Caernarfon on Thursday. She spent the night before celebrating a friend's birthday at a pub in the neighbouring village of Tremadog.
The strangled and drowned body of Ms Roberts was found in a drainage canal known locally at the Cyt after a night out. Miss Roberts, who wanted to become an Army nurse, was last seen leaving the pub at about 0330 BST to walk home.
Businesses in the town have offered a £10,000 reward for information leading to arrest and conviction for her death. A post-mortem examination showed she was strangled and there was evidence of drowning.
