She spent the night before celebrating a friend's birthday at a pub in the neighbouring village of Tremadog. Davies, of no fixed abode, will reappear on 9 July at Caernarfon crown court.
Miss Roberts, who wanted to become an Army nurse, was last seen leaving the pub at about 0330 BST to walk home. An additional bail hearing will be held in Mold crown court on Friday, but the court heard there would be no application for bail.
At the hearing Davies spoke only to ask for the proceedings to be conducted in Welsh and to confirm his date of birth.

North Wales Police have appeared on the BBC's Crimewatch programme to appeal for information about clothing which was found, along with Miss Roberts's handbag, near a sluice gate a short distance from where her body was discovered.
