I fail to see how having a Bank Holiday in October will boost the tourism in England, more like the Canaries if it's tagged on to Half Term! What would be nice is if the Government would see fit to give us an additional Bank Holiday rather than a swap. Maybe the Queen's Official Birthday (June) would be a good suggestion, afterall they get it in Australia.I fail to see how having a Bank Holiday in October will boost the tourism in England, more like the Canaries if it's tagged on to Half Term! What would be nice is if the Government would see fit to give us an additional Bank Holiday rather than a swap. • It makes no sense to have 2 bank holidays in May. The traditional date is the Whitsun holiday at the end of May. We should drop the May day bank holiday in favour of one later in the year. While one in Autumn eg Trafalagr is attractive would not one in the summer June/July time would make more sense. It makes no sense to have 2 bank holidays in May. • Most of the Employments I have had require you to work through bank holidays anyway with the exception of Xmas Day & New Years day so why not abolish them all and be done with it that way I can have all my holidays as I please instead of with the masses at extra expense because it is 'the holiday week'Most of the Employments I have had require you to work through bank holidays anyway with the exception of Xmas Day & New Years day so why not abolish them all and be done with it that way I can have all my holidays as I please instead of with the masses at extra expense because it is 'the holiday week'

  • I'm self employed so unlike those in the TUC I actually have to work for a living, so it'll make no difference to me as far as I'm concerned and pretty much everyone I know. Its a normal work day.I'm self employed so unlike those in the TUC I actually have to work for a living, so it'll make no difference to me as far as I'm concerned and pretty much everyone I know.
