Seven people have been arrested on suspicion of inciting disorder in north Cheshire as disturbances broke out again across England. Violence and disorder has broken out in parts of Merseyside, as some areas are subjected to a second night of violence.
Five men from Warrington, one from Chester and one from Northwich are being held in relation to comments on social media, Cheshire Police said. Missile-throwing youths have gathered in Toxteth, south Liverpool, causing disorder and damage, police said.
In Liverpool, police have warned people to avoid Smithdown Road as youths have started to gather and cause disorder. There have also been reports of shops, pubs and cars being damaged in Birkenhead.
It said it had an enhanced presence in the city after Monday night's riots. Merseyside Police said a total of 35 people had been arrested in Liverpool and Wirral.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: "The force will take every opportunity to deal robustly with any criminal or person that causes problems on our streets. Police said up to 200 youths had gathered in Smithdown Road, in the south of the city.
