Missing woman 'associate' traced Missing woman traced to England
(about 22 hours later)
A teenage "associate" of a missing woman has been traced following an appeal by police. A 22-year-old Glasgow woman who was reported missing on Monday has been found safe and well.
Tracey Gillan, 22, was reported missing on Monday. She has worked as a prostitute in Glasgow. Strathclyde Police said former sauna worker Tracey Gillan has been traced to England.
Strathclyde Police had been anxious to speak to Ibrahim Lala, 19, from Crow Road, Anniesland. A major appeal had been launched for help in tracing Ms Gillan, from Crow Road, in Anniesland.
Officers hope Mr Lala may have vital information about Ms Gillan, but repeated their plea for information on her whereabouts. A police spokesman said: "Tracey has been traced safe and well in England. Media are thanked for their assistance in this matter."
Police said that in the past year she had "frequented the Crow Road and Haghill area, where she lived earlier this year".
She has also previously worked in various saunas in Glasgow city centre.
Ms Gillan has family in London, but has not contacted them since she was reported missing and they are growing increasingly concerned for her safety and wellbeing.
Ch Insp Callander added: "Police inquiries have so far failed to trace Tracey and her family and friends are concerned for her safety."
He added: "While we are pleased to have traced Mr Lala, we are still anxious to speak to Tracey."
