Two light aircraft have collided near a Leicestershire aerodrome, police said. A pilot died and two other men were injured when two light aircraft crashed in Leicestershire.

No details are known about how the planes crashed as Leicestershire Police refused to give further information. The pilot of one of the planes died at the scene. Two men travelling in the other aircraft had minor injuries.
Police would not say if the crash was in the air or on the ground. Ambulances have been seen at the scene although it not known if anyone was injured. No details have been given about how the planes crashed. Police said the investigations were at an early stage.
Lucy Collins, Radio Leicester's news editor, said there was a large police presence at the aerodrome and a Leicestershire Fire and Rescue tanker. A police spokesman said the planes "landed" in the vicinity of Gartree Road, which has been sealed off to allow the emergency services to deal with the incident.
The spokesman said: "One of the aircraft contained one person, a man, who died at the scene.
"The second aircraft contained two men who both received minor injuries."
A representative of Leicestershire Aero Club, which is based at the airport, said she could not give any further information about what had happened.
