Inquiries are under way into the deaths of two men in separate incidents in Inverclyde and the Borders. Inquiries are under way into the death of a man who was found dead in a town in the Borders.
In Greenock, a 34-year-old man was found fatally injured in a street early on Saturday. He was taken to hospital but died a short time later. A spokesman for Lothian and Borders police said that the young man had been discovered in the centre of Selkirk at about midnight on Friday.
Strathclyde Police are treating the death as suspicious and are waiting for post-mortem results before deciding whether to launch a murder inquiry. Police were awaiting a formal identification but said he is believed to be in his 20s.
A young man was also found dead in the centre of Selkirk. Officer from the force have been carrying out door to door inquires in the area.
He was discovered at about midnight on Friday.
