Police investigate death of man Selkirk body find man identified

Inquiries are under way into the death of a man who was found dead in a town in the Borders. Police have identified a man whose body was found in Selkirk over the weekend but say that his death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman for Lothian and Borders police said that the young man had been discovered in the centre of Selkirk at about midnight on Friday. The man has been named as 46-year-old Thomas Lindsay, who was from the town. His body was discovered early on Saturday morning in Dunsdale Road.
Police were awaiting a formal identification but said he is believed to be in his 20s. Lothian and Borders Police had appealed for information and were carrying out door to door inquires in the area.
Officer from the force have been carrying out door to door inquires in the area. They thanked everyone who had contacted them to help with the investigation.
