Two explosive devices have been discovered during a security alert in Londonderry, according to the SDLP. | |

The alarm was raised shortly after 23:00 BST on Thursday when a suspicious object was found in a holdall during a Foyle Search and Rescue team patrol. | |
The Strand Road has reopened to traffic but the police operation is continuing. | |
The road had been closed overnight and about ten houses were evacuated when army bomb experts were called to the scene. | |
A number of residents were also advised to stay at the rear of their houses while the object was examined. | |
