"He was a very experienced officer who was well liked and well respected by his colleagues. He will be missed.
"Paul died taking part in a sport which he loved, diving. He was an experienced sports diver and we will naturally have to wait to discover the precise circumstances surrounding the dive which had such a tragic end.
"In the meantime, we will continue to provide all the support we can to the family."
Pc Jackson leaves a partner, mother and two brothers and a sister.
