Humberside Police have named a diver whose body was recovered off the Donegal coast as one of their officers, Pc Paul Jackson, 49. | |
He had been on holiday at the weekend when he failed to surface from a dive. | |
Two lifeboats, two helicopters and other vessels were involved in the search for the officer. | |
Pc Jackson, who served with Humberside Police for nearly 25 years, was one of seven people deep-sea diving 16 miles (26km) north-northwest of Horn Head. | |

Humberside Police Chief Constable Tim Hollis said: "Paul's death is a sad loss to his family and friends and our thoughts are with them at this time. | |
"He was a very experienced officer who was well liked and well respected by his colleagues. He will be missed. | |
"Paul died taking part in a sport which he loved, diving. He was an experienced sports diver and we will naturally have to wait to discover the precise circumstances surrounding the dive which had such a tragic end. | |
"In the meantime, we will continue to provide all the support we can to the family." | |
