A suicide car bomb has killed at least five people and wounded 20 others in Pakistan's tribal North West Frontier province. At least 20 people have been killed in attacks in Pakistan's troubled north-west, near the Afghan border.
The vehicle blew up as it rammed another car in the town of Parachinar. In one incident a suicide car bomb killed at least six people.
Earlier in the day, the Pakistani army said four soldiers were killed during fighting with pro-Taleban militants in neighbouring North Waziristan. A few hours earlier clashes between soldiers and pro-Taleban militants in North Waziristan left at least 14 people dead, including four soldiers.
The army also said it had killed 10 militants in the exchange, but there is no independent confirmation. Pakistan has seen a sharp increase in violence since a battle with radical Islamists last month for control of the Red Mosque in the capital, Islamabad.
