Arrest after man, 44, found dead Second murder inquiry under way

Gwent Police have launched a murder inquiry after a man died in Newport. Gwent Police are investigating two separate murders in Newport, after the body of a 25-year-old man was found near a petrol station early on Sunday.
The 44-year-old was found in the Caerleon Road area of the city. Forensic officers sealed off streets in the area on Saturday afternoon. The body was found close to the Sainsbury's service station in Shaftsbury Street in the city.
Gwent Police said a 43 year-old man from Newport has been arrested in connection with the investigation. An incident room has been set up and police are appealing for information.
An incident room has been set up at Newport Central police station and anyone with information is asked to call 01633 838111. The force is already investigating the murder of a 44-year-old man found dead in Caerleon Road in the city over the weekend. A man has been arrested.
