The plane was leaving The Isle of Wight Airport at Sandown, bound for France. The plane was leaving The Isle of Wight Airport at Sandown, bound for France, when it crashed just after midday, according to police.
Police said there did not appear to be any survivors but it was not known how many people were travelling on the plane. The plane came down near Canteen Road, Apse Heath, and burst into flames.
Police and emergency services are at the scene of the crash at Sandown Airport and the area has been cordoned off. A spokesman from the Isle of Wight fire service said it appeared that all four people on board had been killed in the accident.
