A spokesman from the Isle of Wight fire service said it appeared that all four people on board had been killed in the accident. The number of fatalities is not known but it appears that at least three people have been killed. The cause of the crash is being investigated.
A police spokesman said officers from the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) were currently examining the wreckage.
