An 18-month-old boy is critically ill in hospital after he was knocked down by a car in Dundonald on the outskirts of east Belfast. A 31-year-old man has been arrested after a two-year-old boy was critically injured in a car crash in Dundonald, on the outskirts of east Belfast.
It happened on the Comber Road shortly after 16: 00 GMT on Saturday. It is believed that an empty, parked car rolled into a woman and a buggy carrying the boy on the Comber Road shortly before 16:00 GMT on Saturday.
The toddler was initially taken to the nearby Ulster Hospital in Dundonald by ambulance. The woman was treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening but the boy remains critically ill.
However, he has since been transferred to Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital. The boy is in critical condition in the intensive care unit. The arrested man has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
