The Westlink has now re-opened after being closed for about six hours following the accident. Meanwhile, four people have been injured in a crash between two lorries and a car on the M1.
Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact the police. The motorway was closed in both directions between Belfast and the Saintfield Road junction at Lisburn.
The condition of those injured is not yet known.
