Part of the M1 motorway has been closed between Lurgan and Moira following a lorry fire. The police are warning motorists of long tailbacks on the M1 motorway following a lorry fire.

Both city bound lanes are expected to be closed later on Thursday, to facilitate the removal of the lorry. The country-bound lane remains open. Tailbacks of up to four miles are currently being experienced.

BBC NI reporter Helen Jones said the lorry, which went on fire on Wednesday at 18:00 GMT, was still smouldering.
"From half past nine the one mile section of motorway will be closed heading towards Belfast so the lorry can be removed," she said.
