It was discovered on Thursday afternoon following a search by the Foyle Search and Rescue team, assisted by the PSNI helicopter and Sligo coastguard. Alexandra O'Brien's body was found on Thursday afternoon during a search by the Foyle Search and Rescue team.
Police have confirmed the body was of a woman who had been reported missing. Rescue workers are continuing to search for 18-year-old Kieran McKeon, who is believed to have been with Ms O'Brien when she disappeared.
The team that recovered her body was assisted by the PSNI helicopter and Sligo coastguard.

Meanwhile police have released details of a missing man in the city. Mr McKeon, who is from the Republic of Ireland, was last seen in Derry in the early hours of Thursday morning.
