In a statement Cornwall Council said it was a "very tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the missing woman".
It added that the Health and Safety Executive would carrying out a "thorough investigation" into the landslip.
The council's wet weather operation has moved into the "recovery phase" with the Met office saying the worst of the weather was now moving away from Cornwall.
