A lorry driver is in police custody following a fatal crash on the M25 near Thurrock in Essex. A father and son were among the victims of a crash on the M25 near Aveley in Essex on Tuesday lunchtime.
A man in his 70s from east London was killed and two other people were airlifted to hospital following the crash at junction 30 on Tuesday. The father, who died, was 79 and from Ilford. He was travelling in the same car as his son, 58, who is in a stable condition in the Royal London Hospital.
The crash, at 12:30 BST, involved four lorries and six cars. A 47-year-old woman, from Basildon, is also in a stable condition at the same hospital. The crash involved four lorries and six cars.
