In a statement, Mike Hopkins, principal of South and City College Birmingham, said: "This incident does not involve our staff or students and did not take place on our grounds, but we are deeply shocked to hear something like this has happened within our community at Hall Green, which is a safe and friendly place.
"The safety of our staff and students is paramount and we'll do anything we can to assist the police in their investigations."
