A 26-year-old woman has been shot dead in south London. A 26-year-old woman shot dead in south London is believed to have been caught in a cross-fire between two gunmen.
The woman, who has not been identified, was found with a serious head injury outside Stunnell House, in John William Close, in Lewisham, on Tuesday evening. The victim was found seriously injured at about 1820 BST on Tuesday, lying outside Stunell House in John Williams Close, New Cross.
She was taken to King's College Hospital by ambulance, where she was pronounced dead at 1941 BST. She is believed to have been hit by a stray bullet after two men opened fire close to a vehicle in the area.

Police are investigating whether the shooting was linked to drug dealing on John Williams Close.
They believe shots were exchanged between a man who stood by a Polo car close to Tarplett House, and another man who stood at the top of steps leading to a field called Bridge Meadows, close to Tarplett House.
A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: "At this early stage we believe the victim was caught up in the crossfire. Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the shooting are ongoing."
A cordon has been placed around the area where the shooting took place and residents living within the cordon are not being allowed back into their flats yet.
A post-mortem examination is due to be conducted on Wednesday.
