"There have been no serious casualties and officers are still at the scene," a police spokesman said.

The incident on the A4232 Ely link road, southbound between Culverhouse Cross and Leckwith, led to traffic queuing both ways at the M4 slip-road at junction 33, Cardiff West. Shortly afterwards, six cars crashed on the M4 and brought traffic to a standstill.
As traffic officers dealt with both incidents, a further crash happened involving two cars.
