Two men have been charged with travelling to Syria to engage in terrorism, police have said. Two men have appeared in court in London charged with travelling to Syria to engage in terrorism.

The pair are suspected of travelling to Syria in May last year, and will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court later. They appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court, where they spoke to confirm their names and dates of birth.
West Midlands Police said they had been charged under the Terrorism Act. They were remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey in London on January 31.
The particulars of the charge accuse them of planning and travelling to Syria, via Turkey, in order to engage in acts of terrorism.
