Man in court after police appeal
(1 day later) | |
A man who handed himself in to police after an appeal to find a suspected sex offender will appear before magistrates later.
Northumbria Police made an appeal over the weekend to trace a van belonging to Paul Anthony Bures, which has since been eliminated from inquiries.
They want to question Mr Bures, 53, over alleged attacks in the North East.
Police have released no details about the man who handed himself in or of any alleged offences before the court.
A spokeswoman for the force, which recently secured a European arrest warrant for Mr Bures who is featured on the Crimestoppers UK Most Wanted website, said: "Following an appeal put out for the whereabouts of a white van, whose owner Paul Bures is wanted by police for sexual offences against children, at 11.30pm last night a 53-year-old man handed himself in at Canterbury police station in Kent."
The man is due to appear at North Tyneside Magistrates Court. |
