A hijacked aircraft travelling  from Ethiopia to Italy has landed at Geneva's international airport, an airport spokesman said. Police have reportedly arrested a co-pilot who hijacked an Ethiopian Airlines plane, which was forced to land in Geneva on Monday.
Though the spokesman gave no details of the hijacked flight, Ethiopian Airlines said in a statement that one of its flights had been “forced to proceed” to Geneva, adding that all passengers and crew were safe at the airport. The airline said that all passengers and crew of the Rome-bound plane were safe.

Swiss officials say the co-pilot  has been arrested after he took control of the aircraft, allegedly because he wanted Swiss asylum.
