A two-year-old girl has died and a woman is in a critical condition in hospital after they were found lying unconscious in a street in Bradford. A two-year-old girl has died after she was found unconscious in a street, police said.
They were discovered at the rear of a property in Delamere Street, West Yorkshire Police have said. A woman who was found with her is fighting for life in hospital.
The two-year-old was pronounced dead in hospital. The woman, who is in her 30s, is seriously injured. Police did not disclose the nature of the injuries Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
A forensic post-mortem examination is due to take place on the child. Detective Chief Inspector Jon Morgan said last night: “Police were called by paramedics to Delamere Street, Bradford at 9.15am today, following reports that a woman and child had been found unconscious outside the back of an address.
“The child, a two-year-old girl, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
“The woman, who is believed to be 36, was also taken to hospital, where she is currently being treated for her injuries. She remains in a critical condition.
“A forensic post-mortem is due to take place tonight.
“Enquiries into this incident are at an early stage, but we are not looking for anyone else in connection with it. I would ask anyone with information to call the police on 101.
