Seamus Hegarty and Kevin Wood were killed after a tractor tyre they were changing exploded just after 18:00 local time at Cross Roads, Killygordan, between Stranorlar and Castlefin. Seamus Hegarty and Kevin Wood were working on the wheel of a vehicle when the accident happened just after 18:00 local time at Cross Roads, Killygordan, between Stranorlar and Castlefin.
The men, both in their 50s, were from the Raphoe area. The men were both 52, and were neighbours from the Raphoe area.
It is believed they were fixing a puncture when a steel rim blew off the wheel and struck the two men.
They had been harvesting potatoes at the time.

Seamus Hegarty was a brother of former Derry City footballer and Finn Harps manager Paul Hegarty.
